Summary

A regional funding opportunity is available for nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, schools or government agencies that serve residents, businesses or institutions within a defined urban district of South and Southwest Baltimore. The support is designed to advance community-led projects by providing grants in tiers ranging from up to $2,000 for smaller initiatives, up to $5,000 for modest efforts, up to $50,000 for intermediate work, and up to $100,000 for larger capital or transformative efforts.

Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, mission-based organizations with a fiscal sponsor, faith-based organizations (when the project is non-religious), schools or public agencies; individuals and for-profit businesses are excluded. Funds may be used to expand programs or pilot new initiatives that advance priorities such as environmental sustainability, health and wellness, community development and neighborhood revitalization. The intent is to support projects that improve access to services, strengthen infrastructure, build neighborhood capacity, and foster equitable outcomes.

Applicants must demonstrate alignment with strategic goals of clean and healthy environments, improved physical and mental wellness, and enhanced community stability and investment. The geographic coverage is specifically within the community impact district served by this funder, which consists of several neighborhoods in South and Southwest Baltimore. Benefits of this opportunity include the ability to secure operating support or capital investment for community-driven efforts, access to a professional review process that values partnership and measurable outcomes, and integration into a broader community of grantees working toward collective change.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to submit proposals during designated application cycles (typically twice per year) and to plan projects that can be completed and reported within the grant period while building toward long-term neighborhood impact.
